Loretta Gentilini

Consultant Architect
Dip Arch (Hons) ARB

Loretta has a broad experience of delivering award-winning projects in the UK over three decades. Her expertise is the public sector, with a focus in education and community infrastructure.

A graduate from Florence University, member of pan-European student magazine Utopica and of EuroPAN 2 winning team Tower 151, she gained experience in the UK on landmark buildings such as Bracken House and Glyndebourne Opera House for Hopkins Architects, then on large schemes in Brandenburg, including the extension of Schönefeld Airport and complex residential-led developments in Berlin and Potsdam.

In London, for vHH she delivered schemes across the education spectrum, among which the environmentally pioneering RSPB Environment and Education Centre at Rainham Marshes, Purfleet. At Maccreanor Lavington she continued work on local authority and independent schools, including the prestigious refectory building for Ibstock Place School in Wandsworth, and on the health and community element of large, mixed-use redevelopments.

Loretta has a passion for retirement communities and age-friendly housing, supported by professional research and first-hand self-build experience, and is a co-founder of Fleet CoHo, older people’s co-housing group in North London. She was recently a professional examiner at the Bartlett School of Architecture.

In autumn 2024 Loretta joined our practice as specialist consultant.
