European Concrete Societies Network - 2004 Award winners

The European Concrete Societies Network (ECSN) presented a European Award for Excellence in Concrete to Millennium Galleries, Sheffield. Designed to comply with the highest international conservation standards, the galleries feature covered arcades, one of which runs the whole length of the building.

This is surrounded by a variety of interesting spaces, linking the structure with the Winter Garden, now under construction, and the Peace Garden, to be built at a later date. The judges commented that the building fits well with its surroundings.
