Pitt Rivers Museum and Radcliffe Science Library win Oxford Preservation Trust Awards

Oxford Preservation Trust

Two PRS projects won 2009 Oxford Preservation Trust Awards:

Pitt Rivers Museum
The entrance to the museum has been transformed by restoring the original Victorian view, reinstating two new steel columns precisely modelled on the originals and significantly enhancing public access. An attractive new focal point to the space has been provided while greatly enhancing public use of the museum, with new learning facilities also added.

Radcliffe Science Library Link
A 1930s extension connecting the Jackson and Worthington buildings has been replaced with a new glazed element. The new link displays an imaginative introduction of new materials and offers pleasing views of the sky and the original Jackson gable.
