Shrewsbury Music School - Shropshire (Pevsner's Buildings of England)

John Newman, Nikolaus Pevsner, Yale University Press

p. 78: "The Turn of C21 has also seen a resurgence in Shropshire of Modernism, driven by newly developed materials and constructional techniques. Now, however, the imagery is much more diverse than in the 1950s-60s, and there is a more humanistic intention to capture the imagination, even to raise a smile or a gasp... The only building in this group which has the luxury of standing free is the Music Centre at Shrewsbury School, 2000-1, by Pringle Richards Sharratt. Here the requirements of function are subtly allowed to generate its memorable form."
