Hull History Centre: 2010 Wood Awards Shortlist Announced

The Wood Awards

The Wood Awards judges have selected an exceptional shortlist from 160 category entries at the Carpenter’s Hall, London.

The 27 strong shortlist features charming private houses and stunning small projects, outstanding restorations, splendid public buildings and fabulous bespoke furniture, all strong candidates for The Wood Awards’ main categories: Private & Best Small Project, Conservation/Restoration, Commercial and Public Access, Structural, and Furniture and of course the coveted Gold Award.

Comprising projects from leading architects and designers as well as smaller joinery and furniture making companies, this years’ shortlist does not disappoint with entries from several previous winners including Knox Bhavan Architects and Price & Myers.

Michael Morrison of Purcell Miller Tritton Architects and Chairman of the Judges said: “I am delighted by the standard of entries in my first year as Chairman. It gives me great satisfaction to see good design thriving in the UK.

“The Wood Awards plays a crucial role in promoting the quality of British design in the world’s most sustainable building material, and I am looking forward to working with our panel of experts to judge the shortlisted projects over the summer".
